York City's new youth team coach will begin work at the end of the month.
The successor to Paul Stancliffe has been serving a two-month notice period at his current club but will be free to take up his position at KitKat Crescent on the Bank Holiday weekend.
Retired City youth coach Brian Neaves has flown over from his Spanish home to look after the club's new intake of youngsters over the summer.
Neaves, along with head of youth development Stancliffe and under-16s coach Garry Naylor, all left the club at the end of last season.
First-team boss Billy McEwan recently commented on the reasons behind Naylor's departure at the Knaresborough-hosted York City Road Show.
He said: "I wanted a progress report written every month on all the players. Certain coaches were a bit put out by that and have left by their own decision."
About Naylor, he added: "He left the club because he did not want to change. He did a good job for the club and we all thank him for that but it's called the wind of change.
"I don't believe there was anything wrong with our youth policy, we just want to make it better. Colin Walker and Brian Neaves have been overseeing it through the summer before the new youth-team coach starts his job on August 27."
Coach Walker will also assist the new man in developing the club's links with local schools.
City managing director Jason McGill said: "The Football in the Community needs to be developed to identify more talent as they are the people who are visiting all the schools. We are putting in a whole new infrastructure."
