JUST back from a riverside stroll in York, which involved a walk through Rowntree Park, my wife and I were astounded at the reported reaction about culling geese in the park and nearby.
The city council has done wonders in this park and it should be a joy to stroll around the lake and the grass areas.
However, the whole area is a disgrace with geese droppings by the thousand polluting every part of the park.
The answer is to remove the birds by any means. If Dame Judy wants them she can have them otherwise cull the lot. Ask any Canadian what they think of the geese, vermin is the answer.
Today I stopped counting the droppings at 100, there were many more.
This park cannot be enjoyed by parents of young children without awful health problems.
A great asset to our city at the present is a disgrace thanks to these creatures.
Get rid of 'em.

Pasture Close,
