SCARBOROUGH got their season going with their first point and goal - but left it late to prise a 1-1 draw from the visit of Kidderminster.
Paul Foot headed home a free-kick in stoppage-time after being brought on in a midfield role at half-time.
With Neil Bishop suspended and Neil Redfearn injured, Boro's midfield had a threadbare look about it, with the experienced Martin O'Connor running the game in the first half for the visitors.
Adrian Harper made his debut on loan from Sheffield United but the action seemed to pass him by.
Mark Jackson was left unmarked to head in from a corner but by then Kidderminster should have had the game wrapped up as they missed three other simple chances and were denied by Steve Baker's superb defending.
Foot, normally a defender, added bite to Boro's midfield, stopping O'Connor from dominating and then nicking the vital leveller.
Said Boro boss Nicky Henry: "We got out of jail but the performance was totally unacceptable."
