DIVISION five leaders Dunnington had little difficulty in disposing of fellow promotion contenders Sheriff Hutton Bridge and became the first side to clinch promotion when they won by eight wickets.
The Bridge reached 57 before the opening partnership was ended by a run-out. Vic Klays remained to carry his bat throughout the innings to make 66no but no other batsman made any impression against a tight Dunnington attack in which Ian Burgess was the pick with 3-39 out of 141-6.
Dunnington opener Burgess confirmed his standing as head of the divisional batting averages by making an unbeaten 72. Andy Chipps (34) joined him in a second-wicket stand of 75 as Dunnington cruised home.
Huntington had a resounding victory at home to fellow strugglers Whitkirk, who were shot out for 74 as Wally Baynes and Phil Walls each claimed 4-19. Huntington's 78-1 was dominated by Chris Smith's 60no.
