Clifton Alliance offered no sympathy to division three strugglers Yapham and really rubbed salt into the village side's deep wounds when they amassed one of the biggest scores in the League's history.
Skipper John Myers was the main beneficiary of an indifferent attack as he made 101. Further pressure was applied by Paul Walton (39), Matt Phillips (56) and Mick Knowles (37) before the final agony was inflicted by John Thornton who hit a whirlwind unbeaten 63 to take Clifton's total to 356-7. In the face of such mayhem, Yapham stalwart Dave Barnes emerged with creditable figures of 3-53.
Yapham's chances of salvaging any pride seemed remote, especially as they were fielding only ten men, but Barry Pearson made a resolute 42 and his side were able to hold out for a draw at 104 with the last pair at the crease, despite Thornton's haul of 4-26.
