Tom Eaves, with six winners in less than a month since he returned from injury, can add to his score at Catterick tomorrow.
The Norton-based jockey rides Sir Nod in the Nidd Classified Stakes and Julie Camacho's promising gelding is napped to triumph following a narrow defeat at Pontefract recently.
Sir Nod looked home and dry entering the final furlong but, having been in front virtually from the outset, he was worn down near the finish and beaten a head by African Breeze.
Slightly more patient tactics may be employed tomorrow on Sir Nod as he tackles six furlongs once more.
Tony Hamilton, who gained entry into the fully-fledged jockey ranks at Redcar on Saturday night when riding his 95th winner, can add to his tally tomorrow.
Hamilton, who has five days' grace of riding with his 3lb apprentice allowance, can win the opening race, the Swale Median Auction Stakes, on the promising Rainbow Bay, trained by his Malton boss Richard Fahey.
A good second on his debut at Hamilton in early summer, Rainbow Bay appeals as the type of horse who can pay his way for the rest of the season.
Count Cougar should go well in the Ken Kirby 80th Birthday Handicap. The five-year-old, twice a winner on the sand this season, is trained near Stillington by Simon Griffiths, a former lightweight jockey.
Malcheek should go well in the Derwent Handicap over seven furlongs. Twice a winner at Thirsk this season, Tim Easterby's gelding has since been beaten at York and Newmarket but tomorrow's return to his winning distance, plus a drop down in class, could see him succeed.
Hayley Turner could be the rider to follow at Brighton. The talented 3lb claimer looks to have a great chance on the in-form Out For A Stroll in the Mr and Mrs McCabe Wedding Celebration Handicap over seven furlongs. The Stuart Williams-trained six-year-old has won his last two races and can complete a hat-trick, despite a 6lb penalty.
Turner also has the mount on Pearl's A Singer, the horse who slipped-up at Ayr 18 days ago in a fall that led to her rider Robert Winston suffering a shattered jaw.
Pearl's A Singer clearly came out of that accident better than York-based Winston, and the three-year-old, twice a winner before that Ayr race, deserves attention in the betdaq.co.uk Handicap.
