THE Yorkshire Air Show at Elvington last Sunday was a wonderful spectacle in perfect weather.
However, memories of the day will be spoilt because of the huge delay in leaving. It took more than two and a half hours to get out of the car park after the show, and for many people will have taken lot longer.
The organisation of the car park was shambolic. Yes, there was a huge attendance, but had nobody predicted this? There was only a handful of stewards that clearly had no idea how to clear the traffic and manage exit routes.
Many visitors shared my frustration and said they will not return next year unless the parking is drastically improved.
How about a Park & Ride facility? The airfield is near to one of the existing routes, and this would be welcomed by many.
