YORK City boss Billy McEwan wants his team to put on a good show against Woking tonight for the club's home fans.
The Minstermen have collected four points on their travels from their last two outings, having beaten Southport 4-1 and drawn with Grays Athletic 1-1.
Both displays were encouraging and McEwan is hoping to bring the same level of entertainment when City return to KitKat Crescent action this evening.
He said: "The travelling fans have seen our best two performances. We did okay against Crawley in our first home match but we could have been more ruthless in the final third of the pitch. Now I want to put on a really good display for our home fans.
"I like night games. I think the atmosphere is better when it's darker and the pitch will look superb. It's in magnificent nick and perfect to play on. Credit goes to our groundsman (Jez Milner) for that."
McEwan will decide whether to give James Dudgeon his debut in place of suspended skipper Mark Hotte or shift Nathan Peat to the centre and recall Dave Merris at left-back.
The City boss is also still hoping to add a new defender, midfielder and striker to his squad before the transfer window closes on Wednesday.
McEwan will still be entitled to make loan signings after next week's deadline and confirmed that both Hartlepool and Sheffield Wednesday have expressed an interest in farming out their younger players to KitKat Crescent for experience.
But on-loan Halifax striker Darren Mansaram has been refused permission to play in City's televised match against the Shaymen on Monday.
McEwan said: "I'm disappointed with that. They said they didn't want him to play because he might score against them and he's a bit of a fans' favourite. I said if that's the case then why are they loaning him to us but it's a condition of the loan and, as a result, they have agreed to let him stay with us for an extra week."
The Halifax game kicks off at 5.15pm.
Tonight's match will be refereed by Cleveland's Mark Tilling, who controversially sent off goalkeeper Chris Porter in last season's home clash with Accrington Stanley.
