SUN Inn 'A' and Cygnet will go head-to-head in the last match of the season to determine the division one championship in John Smith's Men's Darts League.
Sun will require one point and Cygnet all three to decide who will be the champions.
John O'Mara (pictured) hit a 180 for 20 darts as Sun beat Golden Slipper 6-3. Tony Cooper also hit 20, then combined with Chris Thompson for a 22 dart 701, but Slipper captain Robb Platt responded with 18 darts.
Craig Wedge gamed in 20 as Cygnet 'A' cruised past Britannia 8-1.
Division two leaders Shepherds need one point after beating Flag 'A' 6-3, while Rose & Crown, who are second, need three points after a 6-3 win over Green Tree.
Finals night will see Chris Thompson (Sun 'A'), John O'Mara (Sun 'A'), Kev Richmond jnr (Slip Inn) and Dave Gibbons (Cygnet 'A') battle it out for the individual title.
The pairs line up is Lee Brundrett-Keith Turner (Poacher), Chris Thompson-Tony Cooper (Sun 'A'), Rich Plummer-Col Rowntree (Crescent) and Dave Gibbons-John Mooring (Cygnet 'A').
Volunteer tightened their grip on the York Knavesmire Racing Darts League division one championship with an emphatic 8-1 win at Ebor.
Heath Scaife hit a 180 for a fantastic 14 after a 21-darter. Paul Cooper (18 and 19) and Paul Dixon (19 and 20) gave good support, while Ebor's Mark Hartley had a 125 finish in a 27-dart 701 leg with Paul Armstrong.
Clifton were prevented from a whitewash at Crescent by Ken Smith. Martyn Turner opened Clifton's account with 21 and a 106 finish for 15, and Steve Wade hit the tons.
Huntington WMC's clean sweep at Pack included a 19 from Jim Wallis. Nick Harteveld gamed in 22.
In division two, Yearsley 'A' recorded a last game win against Cygnet 'A' who had John Clemit out in 21.
Leeman had Derek Smallwood and Vinny Gothard both out in 20 at Jackdaw, whose Matt Oates-Dave Scaum were match winners. Dave Cormack hit a maximum for Woolpack in their win against Edinburgh Arms.
Baz Sherratt (19) and Stan Isaac (23) inspired Palace to an 8-2, win against Poppleton Road WMC 'B', while Ken Green included a bull finish in Reindeer's victory against Huntington SC 'A' who saved the aggregate with good scores from Linda Welch.
Clifton had a narrow win over in-form Winning Post whose skipper Dave Foyer closed out a 104 finish.
Cygnet 'B' moved back into second spot with an 8-2, victory against Bootham Tavern 'B'.
Division three teams should note that Dick Turpin have been expelled from the league.
Entry forms and payment for the winter season should now be with the league secretary. All teams will be given until Friday, September 2, to submit their entry. Teams should also indicate if they are not entering.
John Pickering showed superb form to qualify for the Clifton Hotel Darts Knockout Finals night.
With 17, 20 and 20 darts, Pickering disposed of Neil Hunter, then put out Tom Hair with an 18-dart deciding leg. Hair had led 2-1, with legs of 18 and 20.
Pickering beat the '19-king' Geoff Brabbs 3-1 in the final after starting with a 16-darter. Brabbs replied with 19 before Pickering closed on 20 and 26 to get through.
The qualifiers for finals night on Friday, August 27, are Martyn Turner, Kev O'Hara, Phil Good, Mick Willsden, Rich Corner, Alan Galley, John Quantock, Tony Raymond, Gary Scott, Russ Greaves, Mark Hartley, John Smith, Craig Wedge, Pip Hair, John Pickering, Antony Baxter. Registration is at 8.15pm to start at 8.30pm The draw will be made at 8pm.
Winter season entry forms are wanted back by the league secretary even if teams are not entering.
