CONGRATULATIONS to all the players, coaching staff and officials of York City Knights on deservedly becoming the LHF National League 2 champions.
The coaching staff and players finally proved any early season doubters wrong about their ability to succeed this season. The roller-coaster ride of emotions they gave their army of fans on the way to winning the title will long live in the memory.
The changing fortunes of rugby league in York on and off the pitch over the three seasons the Knights have been in existence has been quite incredible. The public of York should be proud of what the Knights have done in such a short space of time.
To see so many children wearing their Knights rugby shirts and baseball caps with pride says so much about what the club have achieved off the pitch as well as on it.
If you have not already caught the Knights bug, get yourselves to Huntington Stadium on Sunday, September 4, to be part of the great atmosphere for the last home game of the season against Workington Town.
To all those who have played a part in this wonderful achievement enjoy the glory.
A, G and F Brown,
Lansdowne Terrace,
York.
