FOLLOWING recent comment in the Press about the preponderance of geese and pigeons in some of York's nicer open spaces I suggest the city fathers diversify in the way of recent agricultural changes and put up "Pick Your Own" notices in the affected areas.
People can then take them to either grace their gardens or their tables.
Indeed, some may come already stuffed with breadcrumbs, judging by the number of well-meaning but misguided people who think they are suffering from starvation and insist on distributing food in ever increasing amounts despite notices asking them not to.
