I FULLY agree with Neil Cussons, Steve Barley and Andy Bonner that house prices are out of reach of ordinary people. (News Analysis, August 23).
I am York born and bred and find city properties grossly over-priced. This started with the occupation and building of York University many years ago.
I have my own list of what I think properties should cost at fair prices:
u Two-bedroom terrace house or flat: £50 - £60,000.
u Three-bedroom property £80 - £100,000.
u Four-five bedroom house £150 - £180,000.
They are just not worth more than that and people would be able to afford mortgages then!
Also, York ought to be re-named. Not York city but Flat city, because flats out number houses now.
Keep up the good work lads!
