THE YUGC seniors were also in triumphant form beating their East Riding counterparts 21-15 in the Yorkshire Inter-District clash at York GC.
The outstanding performance of the day came from Heworth's Jim Batt. He and newcomer Kevin Parker (Scarthingwell) won their foursomes 4 and 3 before Batt repeated the same scoreline for his singles' success in the afternoon.
Other singles winners were Steve Dunn (Fulford), making a solid return to the side, Malton and Norton's Stuart Parkin, James Hudson (Pike Hills) and his club-mate Martin Brown, who, with Alistair Smith (Fulford), won in the foursomes to keep their season-long unbeaten record intact. The York ranks led 8-4 in the foursomes before sealing the overall win with a 13-11 triumph in the singles.
ALL aboard for Marrakech, that's the destination for Forest of Galtres GC duo Maria Parks and Angela Darlington.
Parks, who plays off a handicap of 17, and 26-handicapper Darlington, came from the back of the field to win the regional final of the Ladies Moroccan Salver at Crook GC.
The last pair out in the 16-strong field, the Forest of Galtres duo posted 38 points to win by two in the greensome competition and will now represent Yorkshire and the North-East in the national finals to be held in the fabled Moroccan city of Marrakech in November.
Up for grabs at the five-star Palmeraie Golf Palace complex will be the Bader Cup which will be presented by Lady Bader, president of the Douglas Bader Foundation which is named after the famous World War II British fighter pilot.
HILARY Coombes' Pike Hills GC Ladies Captain's Day saw two of the three divisions decided on count-back.
The division one prize went to Hannah Batty from Helen Hawksby after both totalled 35 points, while the division two honours were claimed by Melanie Bradbury ahead of Linda Smith, each totalling 34. In division three, Viv Storr posted 32 to beat her nearest challenger Jane Parkin by one point.
The nearest the pin and straightest drive awards went to Marion Ingle and Margaret Hughes respectively.
The Pike Hills' Evergreen Trophy, for players over the age of 65, was won by ten-handicapper Les Dickenson on 43 points from Brian Baines (17) on 42.
