Pickering Town and Goole are both through to the first qualifying round of the FA Cup after forcing their way through preliminary round replays last night.

Gary Shaw twice found the back of the net to send Goole to the next level with £1,000 in their pocket in a 2-0 home win over Atherton LR, having clipped their wings in a 2-2 draw on Saturday.

The reward for the UniBond new boys is a home tie against Harrogate Railway's conquerors Clitheroe on September 10.

The Pikes are also through after a Dean MacAuley penalty completed a comeback at Northern League division one side Ashington.

Wayne Rigg put the home side in front before Danny Gray equalised and MacAuley made the most of a handball penalty decision to fire home the spot-kick and the Pikes through to the first qualifying round.

Northern non-League giants Farsley Celtic are the visitors to the Recreation Ground on September 10 when Pickering will be keen to maintain their cup run and Celtic to avoid any slip-ups.

Two first half strikes by Gary Martindale conspired to send Tadcaster Albion tumbling out of the cup.

The Brewers had held Chorley to a 2-2 draw at home in the original clash but they were too strong on their home turf as they won 2-0.
