AN OFFER of apprenticeships has gone out to 28 school leavers from York-based Shepherd Engineering Services (SES).
They will be trained in the traditional disciplines of heating and ventilation, plumbing and electrical trades over a four-year period.
It is the result of a company-wide recruitment drive in the form of Apprentice Days, with a number of presentations about the company and what to expect as an apprentice joining the SES team.
Each would-be apprentice was interviewed and had to carry out a number of simple tasks, which included creating a bracket system and wiring plug tops.
