IN reply to Mr Goodwin's letter about getting away from the Yorkshire Air Show and the museum staying open later to let people look around (August 26).
Firstly, on behalf of all of us working at the Yorkshire Air Museum we thank you for visiting us. But visitors must be aware it was run on those two days by people that are volunteers, as on all days during the week.
We should have liked to stay open later but the average age of our stewards was about 70 and they come from as far as Huddersfield, Goole and Pontefract. We opened the gates at 8am on both days for breakfasts and closed them at 6pm after a ten-hour day but, as volunteers, we enjoyed it and hope you did too.
Please visit us again or join us as a steward. Ring 01904 608595 for details
