I AM a resident of Albemarle Road and appalled at the council's decision to allow the erection of a telephone mast here when not long ago a similar scheme to erect one near to Knavesmire was rejected after public concern (August 27).
The Knavesmire Road mast was rejected before the Royal Ascot At York event.
The question is: did Royal Ascot have a bearing on this?
I feel the council is not listening to residents any more. How would they they would feel if someone erected a 8.5m monstrosity in their immediate area?
