YOUNGSTER Christopher Bilton was at the heart of Woodhouse Grange's lifting of the Prendergast Memorial Cup at the expense of Burn at Drax CC.
Taking first knock, Burn were dismissed for 114 against a vibrant Grange side containing five junior players.
Prescott top-scored with 35 until run-out by a direct hit from the boundary. Henley took 4-34 and the fielding was excellent with Luke Phillipps taking three good catches with Andy Kenny plucking a certain six on the mid-wicket boundary.
Burn threw everything they could to turn the game, but 11-year-old Bilton followed his half-century last week with a knock of 31 graced by a series of perfectly-timed cover drives and deft leg glances. Kenny also weighed in with 26 to seal the win by six wickets.
Frank Stones, York Vale League chairman, presented the trophy to Woodhouse Grange captain Victor Lambert.
