Ten-man Selby Town held off Liversedge for the best part of 45 minutes to claim a well-earned Northern Counties East League premier division point last night.
Joe Connor was given his marching orders 30 seconds into the second half for a second bookable offence leaving the Robins to fight with their backs to the wall for the remainder of the 90 minutes.
But they held on against their third-placed opponents to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat at the weekend.
Assistant manager Gary Cygan said: "The first yellow was a bit harsh but we couldn't argue with the second. We weathered the storm and in the last 15 minutes we were the better side but unfortunately we couldn't win it.
"It was a good performance."
Elsewhere in the division, Harrogate Railway were held to a 0-0 draw at newly-promoted Garforth Town.
Goole slipped to their first UniBond League division one defeat at home to Gresley Rovers.
The visitors went 3-0 up with ten minutes to go after strikes, including a Nigel Danby own goal, but Phil Walker and Steve Davey pulled it back to 3-2 late on.
Pickering Town go to Maltby Main tonight for their second league match of the season.
