THE campaign to clean out the workplace receives a big boost as City of York Council agrees to stub out smoking.
The council has signed up to the Yes To Cleaner Air campaign, run by Selby and York Primary Care Trust and the Evening Press.
With 7,500 employees, the council is a big catch for the campaign. While some people still enjoy smoking, most would rather work in a smoke-free environment, which is cleaner and healthier.
With the council on board, the campaign should only gather more steam.
