WILL the council's Head of Waste Strategy, paid for by the taxpayer, or one of our councillors (ditto), stop threatening us with £100 rises in our council tax if we don't recycle?
Once again the little man is getting penalised because of Government targets and over-packaging by retailers. What is the taxpayer paying for if not a decent once-a-week refuse collection?
City of York Council should challenge the Government's targets and make a stand against excessive packaging by retailers.
And can Kristy Walton or Coun Waller please tell us lucky enough to have access to a car, how they will reimburse us the £3 - £4 (£150 - £200 a year) petrol money used going to the household waste recycling centre (tip to me and you) through a council tax rebate? Dream on!
