N J Nicholson need not feel so smug about the recent fall in the price of petrol (Letters, September 20).
The price at our local Tesco, at 90p, is just 1p a litre lower than when I filled my nearly-empty tank there last week. Nationally there is little evidence of the 4p cut according to the press. Had I waited I would have saved slightly more than the cost of sending a letter filled with schadenfreude to the local paper.
