YOUR correspondent Jonathan Powell seems to have swallowed the black media propaganda about York hook, line and sinker.
Most residents will be delighted to live in a city with very low unemployment levels, low council tax levels, one of the best education systems in the country and falling crime rates.
They will look around and see a cleaner and greener city, massive investment in elderly people's homes, in higher and further education and will note that - unlike virtually anywhere else in the country - good public transport systems mean that traffic levels are stable, being little more than they were five years ago.
Return to a hung council? You must be joking. A recipe for indecision and stagnation.
Coun Richard S Moore,
Liberal Democrat, Skelton, Rawcliffe and Clifton Without ward,
