"SPLASHING OUT" (October 13)? Yes, without any thought and support of the citizens of York - just the waste of more money. No wonder City of York Council is in the red.
If only the council had renovated the ladies' toilets that used to be in St Sampson's Square and were able to provide at least ten cubicles, plenty of light, had no steep steps and were still in a sensible location.
Now the council is prepared to close 'splash palace' and move the toilets to Silver Street, which is less than 100 yards from where they were originally in St Sampson's Square.
Do something sensible for a change. After all you get paid well enough.
Mr A Franks,
Almsford Drive,
York.
