IN response to Coun Hyman's letter (October 4), Coun Kettlestring and I attended the planning meeting chaired by Coun Hyman prompted by the inaccuracies in the officer's report on the alternative sporting facilities close to the proposed Derwent school playing field development.
What occurred during the meeting was as described in Coun Kettlestring's letter to the Press (September 28).
Regarding Coun Hyman's charge of "unsubstantiated allegations" about the council officer, with all due respect to Coun Hyman, we were sitting where we could see the proceedings and did not leave the meeting until after the officer, and unlike Coun Hyman we could see what transpired, in this case, behind the open door!
As to the animosity between two major parties, Coun Vassie's vitriolic letter in the Press castigating Councillors King and Scott (October 4) would appear to endorse our views on this subject.
