Following concerns expressed recently by an Evening Press reader who was unable to find the new recycling bank for plastic bottles at Tesco at Clifton Moor, I would like to reassure residents that the bank is still in place and has not been removed.
It was one of six new banks put in place at the end of September. These were additional to the existing bank at the Foss Islands household waste recycling centre and are located at B&Q on Hull Road, Tesco at Tadcaster Road and at Clifton Moor, Sainsbury's at Monks Cross and the Beckfield Lane and Towthorpe Household Waste Recycling Centres.
When the plastic bottle bank is full, an empty one is brought to the site and left and the full one is taken away to be emptied. So there is always a plastic bottle recycling bank at each of the sites.
Just in case anyone else has difficulties finding the plastic bottle recycling bank at Tescos at Clifton Moor - as you face the front of the store it is located to the left at the far end of the car park, near Wick's.
