SO the spokeswoman from City of York Council agreed that allowing Ann Reid's daughter to get to her wedding ceremony presented a "useful opportunity" to test the new emergency lights system where all the traffic lights change to green during an emergency.
This, we are told by way of apology, was not up to Ann Reid's "usually high standards". Well, Ann's high standards must certainly differ from mine!
Alas, I can think of another "useful opportunity" to test the system once more, when Ann Reid has the dignity to resign and is whisked out of the city of York in record time.
