SO Councillor Ann Reid wants to apologise for her feeling over her daughter's personal "freedom of the city ride" (October 15). Not accepted!
There are too many things not in her favour to believe her. Firstly every married couple's dream would be to have freedom of the city's traffic lights to go to their reception afterwards, but if anyone ever applied to have that privilege, they would surely be turned down.
Secondly, why wait until that wedding, why not the week before or the week after? Oh no, can't let someone else have that!
This, to me is personal abuse of power and gratification within the Lib Dem council hierarchy and only those in that position could get that kind of treatment whether it was personally organised or done by other high-standing members.
Let's not forget recently about politicians who have fallen by the wayside for personal gains. It is emphatically explained to all politicians and high ranking council members that the position they hold is not for personal gain or profit.
Seeing that this is not as severe as most of the other kinds of personal favours, let's ask her to dig deep into her handbag and donate some money to a charity that she likes and should she do it again, "off with her head", as the Queen would say (if allowed) because only she gets that kind of privilege!
