I wish to complain about the speed humps in York and the cost of upkeep.
I live and work in the York area, for the past three years as a day-time taxi driver. On my travels I notice the deterioration of sleeping policemen (speed humps) highlighted by the red paint on them.
The ones that lie lengthways up the road are constantly being repaired on the sides where they are breaking away.
I have noticed it is worse on bus routes. If you follow a bus you will see they cause more wear and tear, and there are a lot of buses travelling round York all day. Are these humps up to the loaded buses in York, and who is paying for this constant upkeep?
They do not deter joy-riders or slow them down. I am sick of constantly paying out for the tracking and suspension link on my car.
Mr C Cullen,
Cornlands Road,
York.
