NURSING a broken collar bone, cuts and bruises, Tammi Stenton knows she is the luckiest girl in York.
She stepped out into the rush-hour traffic last Friday and was hit by a bus. That she escaped with such minor injuries is astonishing.
Now the 11-year-old is using her good fortune to warn her peers to be careful when crossing York's roads.
Children these days are thought too knowing to take notice of such as Tufty the squirrel or the Green Cross Code man. They prefer to "keep it real". Tammi's very real encounter might just persuade more of them to stop, look and listen.
