YORK Acorn ARLC women's team have been fined £100 following the abandonment amid stormy scenes of their game against East Hull.
The Press reported last week that the game in question was ended after just 20 minutes as three players continually questioned the referee and hurled abuse his way after he ruled out a try by Donna Parker, while one player, Kay Rollinson, was sent off but went back onto the pitch in an alleged attempt to get at the referee. Rollinson has been banned for five games.
East Hull, meanwhile, have been charged with bringing the game into disrepute for their committee's decision to release details to the media of their dispute over the controversial women's league structure and of the abandonment of the Acorn match.
