New Earswick ARLC Under-16s paid the price for too much lost ball when losing 36-14 to West Hull.
They hit back well after going 6-0 down as Henderson put Elliot Bridges over but they then spent much time on the back foot, with a Dan Atkinson try disallowed for a foot in touch their best effort as they went in 24-4 down.
All Blacks began the second half well, with Jack Wren putting Bridges over again, but again sloppy handling cost them with only Ted Young and Jamie Norris error-free. Bridges had a hat-trick try ruled out for a knock-on but Pat Smith got a consolation to maintain his try a game record.
York Acorn U14s scored 12 tries on their way to a 58-31 friendly defeat of Scarborough Pirates.
Stuart Leeke and Josh Peacock scored four apiece with other tries coming from Mike Kellett (2), Josh Mortimer and Tyler Dawson. Ricky James (3) and Antony Chilton (2) added goals. Tyler Dawson was man of the match.
Matty Heels was man of the match as Heworth U10s put up a spirited display against a big team from Drighlington.
James Dunhill was top tackler and Baxter Hackett was most improved. Dunhill, Louis Horwell and Daniel Simpson scored tries, with Dunhill and Horwell adding goals.
Heworth juniors training will move to Wednesdays, 7-8pm, at St John's College's all-weather pitch from October 26.New players at U9s, 10s and 11s are welcome. U8s will train at Burnholme School on Tuesdays, 6-7pm.
