The talented Anglers World Holidays team extended their lead in the Yorkshire Winter League with an emphatic second round victory on the River Calder around Mirfield.
Tom Gausden took top individual spot and helped secure his Anglers World side's perfect start to the series from a peg that team captain Stan Haigh had packed up from the previous week.
After drawing the peg below the bridge at Sands Lane, a disconsolate Gausden was advised by the ever-cheerful Haigh that he would probably come last in his section as Haigh had suffered at the hands of the minnows the previous week.
Undeterred, Gausden went about his business with stick and caster. At the whistle six small barbell, plus roach and dace, heralded a 12lb 10oz-winning net.
Three pegs downstream Kevin McClachlan (Airborough 'B') used waggler and maggot for a fine net of dace scaling 9lb 10oz which was good enough for second place.
Others: Ian Walker (Selby) 9-5-0; Mick Webb (Leeds) 8-14-0; Tony Stephenson (Anglers World Holidays) 8-3-0; Graham Cockshot (Ryburn) 6-12-0.
Teams: Anglers World Holidays 70; Hirst Tackle 'A' and Waterline Wibsey both 62.
League Anglers World Holidays 2; Hirst Tackle 'A' 4; Waterline Wibsey 5.
Richard Burns scored a remarkable hat-trick at the Willows on Saturday when victory in the 34-peg open gave him his third win in as many weeks.
Drawn on peg 53, he decided to target carp down the margins with chopped worm and caster.
After netting around 50lb of fish to 5lb, the fish dried up prompting a switch to a 16-metre line. The swap proved crucial as he added enough ide and tench in the closing stages to push him clear of his rivals with 66lb 8oz.
Steve Fearnley took second from peg 47, where he swapped between maggot and corn to keep ide to 2lb interested.
His 51lb 6oz net was one fish too many for Ian Butler, who recorded 50lb 4oz of carp to 4lb from peg 36.
Others: Andy Gallant 48-0-0; Ben Fisk 42-0-0; Dave Armitage 40-0-0.
