Tag rugby could be the new sporting sensation in the York area if plans for a new adult tag league come off.
Following on from hours of coaching and several tournaments for schoolchildren, an adults-only tag rugby festival has been set up for November 27 - and could pave the way for a summer league.
The York City Knights community team have seen the popularity of the non-contact game rocket since taking it into schools.
That enthusiasm has started to spread to the adult sector of the city, with one team already playing friendlies against squads from other cities.
Anyone aged over 16 can play in the November festival in teams from businesses, organisations or pubs. And women are just as welcome with all-girl or mixed teams able to play alongside the men.
