FAR too much fuss is being made of the Ann Reid saga. The lady made an error of judgement, which she has acknowledged, and for which she has apologised.
We are all capable of making mistakes. The person who never made a mistake never made anything.
In this instance, there was no financial loss and nobody was hurt.
The individuals concerned must have got the message that there should be no repetition so an inquiry would serve no useful purpose.
It would just generate a lot of hot air and paperwork at the expense of the taxpayer.
It is time to move on.
Matthew Laverack,
Lord Mayor's Walk,
York.
