NESTLE Rowntree RUFC were beaten 21-24 by a dramatic last minute try from York III at Mille Crux.
It was 'Trees' first defeat since their opening game of the season.
York opened the scoring with a converted try from their backs. 'Trees hit back with three Ivor Jackson penalties and he converted centre Pete Travis' try after a great crossfield kick from winger John Atkin.
No 8 Dom O'Sullivan made it 21-7 at half-time when he drove over from a five-metre scrum.
York scored virtually from the restart with a forward going over from a close-range penalty and further reduced the margin with another try from their quick backs.
As 'Trees tired they were grateful to full-back Sean Nicholson for three great try-saving tackles. They missed a penalty that would have preserved their unbeaten run and in the closing seconds spilled the ball over their own line and York dived on it for the winning score.
