YORK City striker Andy Bishop was on target for the England National Game XI in a 2-0 victory over a Belgian representative team last night.
Bishop, who partnered Grays Athletic forward Jamie Slabber, found the net during the European Challenge Trophy match at the home of FC Racing Jets in Wavre.
The non-League under-23 side, managed by Barnet boss Paul Fairclough, will now face further matches against teams from Holland and Italy later in the season.
City's reserves meanwhile drew 0-0 at Darlington last night with David Stockdale pulling off a number of saves to keep a clean sheet and David Pounder going closest at the other end, hitting the bar.
The Minstermen are hoping to fill their vacant Saturday on December 3 with a home match against Southport.
Billy McEwan's men had been due to entertain Stevenage Borough that weekend but the Hertfordshire club will be in FA Cup action instead.
Southport are out of the competition after losing last night's first round replay 1-0 at Woking and their Tuesday, January 24 visit to KitKat Crescent is now expected to be brought forward to replace the Stevenage fixture.
