THE writers and producers of Emmerdale should be ashamed of themselves, to have given the grand old gentleman of the series, Seth Armstrong, a funeral without his beloved Betty being there.
To show her in the woods in a mock gathering does not help the thousands of people who attend loved ones' funerals in real life - but would have preferred not to be there.
We know it is only fiction, but it was in poor taste. The Rev Ashley looked quite crestfallen at the graveside. Why were only half the village there?
The mock service in the woods was surely illegal?
