AFTER what seems like years, the Conservative leadership campaign finally rolled into our neck of the woods yesterday.
And at a meeting in York, the two Davids, Cameron and Davis, attempted to talk up their Yorkshire credentials.
If this was the only issue, Mr Davis would win hands down. He was born in Walmgate, no less, and is a Yorkshire MP.
Mr Cameron tried to hit back by pointing out that William Hague, "a good Yorkshireman", was backing him. But the Eton and Windsor-educated Oxfordshire member has his work cut out if he wants to convince the folk round here that God's Own County is close to his Home Counties heart.
