LOOKING for an excuse to pamper yourself? Then why not raise money for the Guardian Angels appeal at the same time.
Virgin Vie party rep Louise Gee, 22, has organised a Ladies' Christmas Night to allow women to spoil themselves in the name of charity.
Money raised will be donated to our £300,000 appeal to transform
paediatric high-dependency care at York Hospital.
The pampering night will be held at The Tanglewood, on the A64 near Stockton-on-the-Forest, on November 24, where Louise will offer mini makeovers and facials, and give people the chance to order make-up, jewellery and other beauty products.
Alex Crow, from Aura Hair & Beauty, will be on hand to offer manicures and other nail services from 8pm, and Jennifer Coulter, from Petit Fleur Greeting Cards, will be selling gifts.
Raffle prizes up for grabs include nail extensions and bottles of bubbly, a meal for two donated by The Tanglewood, tanning sessions from Xanadu Tanning Ltd, passes for Living Well gym, and a bouquet of flowers from Fiona Hogg.
"We've had lots of interest and everybody has been really kind donating raffle prizes," said Louise.
"Hopefully, we're going to get a fair few people there.
"We've got loads of prizes to give away and it will be a relaxed girly night, where people can start their Christmas shopping while getting pampered as well."
The event is free to attend, and you do not need to pre-book.
Louise said she had personal reasons for supporting the appeal.
She said: "From recent experience, I know how important it is to have
up-to-date facilities at the hospital, and although I have never had to visit the children's ward, I feel that is no reason not to help, after all we never know what is round the corner.
"Raising money for the life-saving high-dependency rooms will be a great step for York Hospital."
If you want to make a donation, send cheques or postal orders made out to Evening Press Guardian Angels appeal, to Charlotte Percival, Newsroom, Evening Press, 76/86 Walmgate, York, YO1 9YN. Please do not send cash, and please do not send donations to the hospital direct.
