CHILDREN In Need proved it is not just youngsters who dream of what they might be when they "grow up".
The campaign's theme "what you want to be when you're older" was adopted by adults as well in our region, including a solicitor wearing Fred Flintstone bearskins.
Schools and workplaces around the region took part in a day of fun and fundraising.
Zara Barton, 11, of Harrogate, was invited down to the live show in London last night after selling bags of fudge to raise cash.
She sold the 200 bags - weighing more than eight stones - at St Robert's Roman Catholic School in Harrogate and through local shops.
In York, solicitor David Kershaw ran from his home in Copmanthorpe to work at Ware & Kay Solicitors, in Peasholme Green, York, dressed as Fred Flintstone - inspired by England Ashes hero Andrew "Freddy" Flintoff.
Orthodontist Jonathan Hunter let patients extract their revenge at his Marygate practice by spraying his hair all the colours of the rainbow for a donation.
Children at West Thorpe play group, in Dringhouses, dressed up as nursery rhyme and fairytale characters and cooked Pudsey bear cookies to raise money.
Over at Little Joes nursery, in Fulford, the dress-code was strictly "pirates and princesses" with a Pudsey cake raffle off.
Staff at HSBC, in Parliament Street, York, got their adrenalin pumping by abseiling down the four-storey building.
Pupils at Settrington School, in Ryedale, came in dressed as "what they want to be when they're older". They also did a money trail as they came into school, placing coins on a path laid out around the school grounds.
