I WOULD just like to express my disgust at the way York tourism has treated the forthcoming visit of former heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson.
Surely this is a great opportunity for York to welcome such a high-profile sportsman, but no!
Why, we all ask? Is it because he has a colourful past, sometimes for the wrong reasons?
Or because he's not a Hollywood actor, world politician or someone offering money?
Remember the media love to keep him as the "baddest man on the planet", but I dare say this man has also done a lot of good things in the past, but no one wants to report it.
Swallow your pride, stop being snobby and welcome the greatest heavyweight boxer since Mohammad Ali to York.
Mr C Dale,
Highthorn Road,
York.
