Selby Town's nightmare scenario of a long trip to Hereford tomorrow night came true on Saturday as they ended up deadlocked 3-3 after extra time in the FA Vase against Westfields.
Selby 'keeper Adam Mitchell saved one of two penalties awarded to the Midland Alliance side in an action-packed encounter.
Westfields had an early goal disallowed for offside but Selby's pressure eventually told and Adam Wash gave them the lead when he netted from close range on 25 minutes. Two minutes later, a fine move saw Tom Reid cross for Jason Roughley to head in at the far post to double the advantage. The visitors pulled one back in the 37th minute.
It was all square on 55 minutes when Mark Hibberd scored from the spot but the Robins were back in front a minute later when Reid fired home after a great run.
Mitchell made a great penalty save before the visitors levelled.
Extra time brought no further goals.
Extra time was also required at Pickering Town - but the Pikes were celebrating after Liam Salt struck in the final period to seal the win against Oldham Town on 103 minutes.
Harrogate Railway's Vase hopes were knocked off course by a single Cammell Laird goal.
Tadcaster Albion's Northern Counties East League division one match at home South Normanton Athletic was postponed.
In the UniBond League, Goole's consolidation under caretaker manager Nigel Danby continued as they recorded a 1-1 draw at home to play-off contenders Kidsgrove Athletic.
