REGARDING the scheme to pay parking fees by phone (November 19), what do the council take us for?
Not only do we have to pay a minimum of £2 to park at Clifford's Tower car park. But we also have to pay a 20p "service charge" if we do pay by mobile phone and also call an 0870 number, which if I recall is charged at national rate!
I hope all York's shopkeepers want a quiet Christmas because with rates like this who is going to want to shop in the city centre?
