REGARDING the uproar concerning the recent actions of Councillor Ann Reid: surely it is naive to believe that in choosing to test the new traffic lighting system for emergency vehicles in the manner undertaken, she would not have had to put this idea up for approval to others?
In which case why is Coun Reid the only person who seems to be under fire? As things stand, she has not proved herself unable to perform her role adequately, which is the only instance in which she should be asked to step down.
Rather, she has saved the taxpayer a not inconsiderable amount of money and the emergency services some possibly life-saving time.
Surely this can only be a good thing?
