Yorkshire County Cricket Club returned home today from a highly successful nine-day visit to the World Cricket Academy in Mumbai.

"All of the players have benefited from studying different techniques and playing in conditions they have not experienced before," said batting coach Kevin Sharp, who led the tour.

Yorkshire concluded their visit with hard-fought one-day matches on each of the final two days. In the first, the nine members of the party split into two teams with the rest of the places taken by local cricketers.

Andrew Gale's side scored 186 off their 40 overs and went on to beat Richard Pyrah's team by one run after Anthony McGrath had caused a collapse by taking 5-46. Richard Dawson hit 58 and took 2-22.

Yorkshire then gained a comfortable 120-run win against Police Gymkhana. Yorkshire thrashed 278-7 with Matthew Wood slamming 104 off 75 balls with 13 fours and five sixes. Two local fast bowlers then did early damage for Yorkshire who bowled out their opponents for 128, Dawson claiming 2-12.
