CAROLE Tucker's letter regarding the appointment of Dr John Sentamu as Archbishop of York is so very sad as it comes from a professed Christian (November 16).
So many people in our city and from the Christian family at large have expressed the wish to see Dr Sentamu inaugurated as our archbishop that York Minster cannot hold the numbers.
The service will be broadcast to a large overspill congregation in a neighbouring church, while many hundreds of others have been unable to obtain tickets for this wonderful event.
We can only pray the Lord's message to love your neighbour will fill Carol's heart and that she will one day be able to accept her new archbishop.
In the meantime, I know that many people in our city welcome Dr Sentamu with open arms and hope that he can help stem the decline in our Christian faith in this country.

Haleys Terrace,
York.
