WELL done Paul Willey, it needed saying and you have done just that ("Time to axe foot-streets?" November 18).
Paul's suggestion, however, doesn't go far enough. We need roads opening all over the city.
Those roads that no longer take through traffic are not maintained to a high standard and are just patched up. Many of them now look like a patchwork quilt. Don't take my word for it; just look around where you live.
Paul does not want to see this city die and neither do any of us.
We must generate a sensible concept of access for the future to help businesses to thrive and bring prosperity to all of York's citizens.
