CHILDREN, who have suffered abuse and neglect, will receive regular help from York chartered accountants Atkinsons.
The company has raised £400 for the NSPCC, the UK's leading children's charity, through a clay pigeon shooting day at the Cotton Dale shooting ground, at Staxton Wold.
Atkinsons' managing partner, Peter Atkinson, said: "We've chosen the NSPCC as our charity this year and aim to raise funds to help their FULL STOP campaign locally.
"About 25 clients and colleagues took part in the clay pigeon shooting competition. Our guests enjoyed a fun-packed event, and the charity benefited to the tune of £400."
The trophy for the best shot of the day went to Geoff Schofield, of NatWest
Bank.
Deborah Rack the NSPCC's FULL STOP manager for the North and North West, said: "It was a fantastic fundraising effort and we can't thank Atkinsons enough.
"Their fundraising will make a real difference to the lives of the children we help. The NSPCC has two teams based in York.
"The domestic abuse team offers help and support to women and children who have suffered domestic abuse, and the therapeutic team provides a therapeutic service for children who have been abused."
