THREE men have been charged in connection with the brutal gang rape of a deaf women in a York graveyard.
Cezary Krasnopolski, 25, Marcin Legowski, 23, and Dominik Knoblauch, 20, were last night charged with rape and were due to appear at York Magistrates Court today.
Police also made a fresh arrest in connection with the case. They revealed a man who lives in a city centre location was arrested at his place of work yesterday.
Five arrests were made last week, but police had earlier appealed for information on a sixth suspect in what Detective Inspector John Reed described as "a repeated serious sexual assault by six men who were all involved in the offence."
The men who were charged last night were arrested on Wednesday morning in police raids on two addresses in Lincoln Street, off Leeman Road, York. The other two men arrested in the raids were subsequently released.
The Evening Press has run a city-wide poster campaign to support the two-week investigation.
The 36-year-old victim was attacked between 1am and 4am on Sunday, November 13, in St Martin's churchyard, in Micklegate, York.
